Preparing little ones for the classroom with personalised education and heartfelt care
At Bright Days Herston, our kindergarten students are gently supported through one of their biggest early transitions — the step into school. Our 4-year-old kindergarten program builds confidence, independence and curiosity while developing the skills and knowledge they’ll need to thrive in Prep and beyond.
At this age, children are full of questions, ideas and wonder. We nurture their growing sense of identity and help them understand themselves as learners through a personalised, play-based approach.
By combining heartfelt care with intentional teaching, we ensure our students feel safe, valued and ready to take on the structure and expectations of formal schooling, not just academically, but emotionally and socially too. It’s about more than learning letters and numbers — it’s about helping your child feel confident in who they are and excited for what’s ahead.
Setting the foundations for confident, curious learners
Much like kindergarten, school builds on the skills children have developed in their early years—but in a more structured environment. At Bright Days, we make sure those foundations are strong, so every child feels prepared and ready to learn. Here’s how we make that happen:
Communication skills
From group discussions to imaginative play, children learn to express themselves clearly and listen to others with care and confidence.
Cognitive development
Students learn the basics of reading, writing, math, and spelling through fun activities that build their understanding and skill set. Our Head Start Curriculum not only meets but exceeds primary school benchmarks
Confidence and identity
We help each child feel proud of who they are, building independence, selfawareness and the ability to thrive in new settings.
Wellbeing and resilience
Through nurturing relationships and consistent routines, children develop emotional strength, learn to manage big feelings, and grow with confidence.
Curious, engaged learning
With hands-on activities and open-ended exploration, the culture at Bright Days encourages curiosity and a love of learning that carries through to school and beyond.
Creative expression
We provide daily opportunities to explore and practice new concepts through music, drama, storytelling, visual arts, and science, helping children creatively understand the world around them.
Play with purpose
We encourage children to participate in outdoor adventures, messy play, and quiet moments that nurture their physical development, spark imagination, and build problem-solving skills
