Early childhood education that supports the development of young minds

At Bright Days Herston, our pre-kindy program gently supports children as they build the confidence and skills they’ll carry into kindergarten, school and beyond. Our toddler room is filled with natural elements and open-ended learning opportunities that spark imagination and encourage creativity. It’s a place where little ones are free to explore, play and learn in their own unique way.

While formal schooling begins at age six, the early years are where the foundations are laid. Our Pre-Kindy and Kindergarten programs are carefully designed to nurture your child’s development and prepare them for a confident start in the classroom.

By enrolling in pre-kindy, you’re giving your little one a gentle, supportive start to their learning journey—one filled with care, encouragement and meaningful connections that last a lifetime.

Nurturing growth through play and connection

Children thrive socially and emotionally when they’re supported by caring educators, surrounded by friends, and given space to explore through play. In our pre-kindergarten program, we create a welcoming environment where every child feels seen, heard, and valued.

Our dedicated educators are more than just supervisors — they’re mentors, guides, and role models. With warmth and patience, they help children navigate early social experiences, encouraging positive relationships and emotional resilience. Through play-based learning in music, dance, art, and dramatic play, our team gently supports each child’s development, tailoring experiences to suit their unique interests and needs.

Setting the foundations for a lifelong love of learning

Our pre-kindy program blends play-based learning with early cognitive development in a nurturing environment where children feel safe to explore, interact and grow.

Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and go beyond the National Quality Standard (NQS), delivering outstanding care and education for your child. Here’s how we support your child’s development every step of the way:

Social skills

We build strong relationships between children and educators, helping little ones build confidence and social awareness. This makes the transition to kindergarten smoother and more enjoyable.

Cognitive development

We support the development of fine motor skills while encouraging curiosity, critical thinking and problem-solving through engaging, age-appropriate activities.

Indoor and outdoor play

Our centre is purpose-built to inspire young minds and support the development of their physical skills, offering both indoor and outdoor spaces for active play and exploration.

Rest and relaxation

We respect each child’s rhythm, with calm, designated spaces where they can pause, rest and recharge at their own pace.

Literacy and numeracy skills

We gently introduce letters and numbers, encouraging early learning without overstimulating developing minds—just the right balance to inspire without overwhelm.

Peace of mind for the whole family

By enrolling in pre-kindy, families can feel confident their child is gaining the best possible start in a caring, supportive environment.

Helping Queensland children learn, play and explore before they transition into formal education

Toddlers are naturally curious, energetic and eager to understand the world around them. At Bright Days, we nurture this stage with a warm, welcoming environment that encourages exploration, discovery and joyful learning.

Our flexible spaces support active play, helping little ones grow through wandering, wondering and trying new things. Guided by our qualified early childhood teachers, we are more than a toddler care centre; we are a place where children are gently supported into early education, where they begin to express their independence and unique personalities.

This stage is also key for identifying any developmental or behavioural challenges early. In a caring, structured setting, it’s easier to spot signs that might not be obvious at home, giving families the chance to provide extra support well before formal schooling begins.
